Year two gardening…first things first I need a fence! I asked my husband nicely for some help…I asked again…and again…and again. Then I began to nag to no avail. He wasn’t budging.
Garden Gate
I went to the Home Depot and bought my t-posts for the fence. I guess he saw that I wasn’t going to give up and if he didn’t help me there was going to be some haphazard fencing that the neighbors might see. Something else you should know about me I am not a perfectionist I lack that attention to detail.

My husband and I spent two Saturdays building my garden fence. I ended up with a strong fence, a sturdy and level wooden gate and a gorgeous cedar stained arbor. My husband is too good to me!
Gardening in June
Now June, everyone kept telling me it was way too late to begin my garden. Hell usually breathes its breath on us in late May to June. I didn’t care and bought vegetable starts from Azure Standard. Azure is up North so I was still able to get tomatoes and pepper starts.

A Blessed Season
Wow! I had tomato plants running all over the place. (I didn’t stake them…see I warned you about who I am) We had peppers, okra, watermelons, and zucchini, more than we could eat. It was too hot for the tomatoes to fruit, so I didn’t have too many tomatoes. We were blessed that year.
Lessons I learned this year gardening…keep the deer out and it will grow! ha ha! June is not too late in the summer for some things to grow. Nagging sometimes works and if I want it done right he is the man for the job. (poor husband of mine)
