Monday through Friday we are in the rat race. Running as fast as we can. Our bodies are insulted everyday with harmful substances from off-gassing chemicals in our furniture to exhaust from our cars. We need time to regroup, relax and heal. Picture a morning walk in the woods.
God created amazing bodies that heal themselves we just have to slow down long enough to let that miraculous process happen. Most importantly, is getting enough sleep every night. There is no such thing as catch up sleep once it’s lost it’s lost. That is one night you didn’t rebuild and heal.
Grounding or Earthing
While the research on grounding is relatively new the process is ancient. Basically, you walk barefoot on the earth for 30 minutes a day. During the day when we come in contact with electronics our bodies build up positive ions (not positive in the good sense). When we reconnect with the earth, meaning bare ground or grass not asphalt or concrete, our bodies are able to exchange these positive ions for negative ions with the ground; ie., the idea of grounding.
Morning Walk in the Woods
Walking among trees, a lot of trees, like in the woods can have the same grounding affect. Get the visual of a tree hugger. 🙂 So hug a tree today, but not in the sense of worshiping the tree, but exchanging ions. 😉 Instead of tree hugging you can also just take a morning walk in the woods.
Weird! Why would I do this?
So the immediate benefits of exchanging the positive ions for negative ions is relaxation. I mean immediate relaxation. So if you are feeling stressed or anxious go walk barefoot outside for 30 minutes (probably without your cell phone).
But the longer term benefits are also amazing. Reduced inflammation, who couldn’t use a few less aches and pains! Increased energy and less stress are also longer term effects. Earthing supports adrenal health and protects the body from EMF’s.
